Sailing Toward Horizon: A Leadership Voyage of Discovery provides productive ways to lead and work alongside people who are experiencing the disruptive impact of climate change. The book takes the reader on a five-day journey aboard the RV Smart Ports, a floating classroom where five fictional characters teach about the dispositions needed for leading.

Leadership is a contingency activity, meaning that leaders draw upon and utilize practices and behaviors as they assess a situation. Intelligent thinking by those in leadership roles must be multifaceted and include cognitive intelligence, emotional intelligence, social intelligence, and collective intelligence.
